Struisbaai & Agulhas
Struisbaai is an unbelievably picturesque coastal village located in the Overberg region of the Western Cape, South Africa. Just 4 kms from Cape Agulhas, Struisbaai is close to the southernmost tip of Africa. A deep-rooted fishing village which has many sights and activities to offer visitors. The old white-washed fishermen cottage's at the entrance to Struisbaai are national monuments and have been restored into holiday homes today.
The spectacular white sandy beach which stretches all the way to Arniston provides endless views and is a good representation of what makes Struisbaai so striking to visitors. The quaint little harbour originally built in 1959 and expanded in 1990, is another great draw-card for visitors as it serves leisure boats as well as local fishing boats. Visitors can watch traditional fishermen bring in their daily catches and where fresh fish can be purchased.

Agulhas is the most Southern Coastal village in South Africa. Tourist interests and activities include, visiting the lighthouse and taking a walk along the board walk to the most southern point where the two oceans meet. The Indian and Atlantic Ocean.
A little further along the walkway is the shipwreck of Meisho Maru. Tourists also enjoy the local fynbos plants, bird watching, hiking, swimming in the local tidal pools or a game of Jukskei on Saturday mornings. Other interests are visiting arts and craft shops, local wine sales, shops and restaurants or enjoy a meal at one of the best local fish restaurants in the area. L’Agulhas is a peaceful town and a ‘get away’ from busy city living.
